This is the first typography project I have ever done. I hated type and everything about it. Once you learn the impact that just a type face alone has on the presentation of an Ad, you learn to love it.In the Rolls Royce ad, the demographic is most likely an older male who has a very
large income. Since we could only use type for this project I decided to use a very "classic" font, since Rolls Royce is viewed in a high class category. The headline reads "The loudest noise in a Rolls Royce is the ticking on the clock," since this is emphasizing that Rolls Royce is a very quiet car, I used the arrangement and size of the typeface to help emphasize this point.
The Bubba's BBQ ad, the demographic is a family. The headline is very cheeky and humorous, the most important words are "babe" and "hungry" therefore need to stand out the most. I u
sed the font that the actual Babe movie used to quickly get the point across, since the font is related. I used a very bold font for the word "hungry" to create that feeling people get when they are REALLY hungry. As well, used the really large "?" to emphasize the hunger.Rule: Try to avoid using more then 3 different typefaces in an ad.
The Health Canada ad is a very informational ad, the demographic is targeted towards teachers, parents, and people that are concerned with their health. Since the ad is very informational the way the type is positioned and the typeface I chose is suppose to create the feel of an important document, to create the importance of covering your food. The white space assists in creating the importance by leading your eye directly to the middle, which then leads you through the ad.
